Major in Computer Information Systems - Bachelor of Science

Program Mission:

The mission of the Computer Information Systems degree program in the computer science department is to prepare competent business application developers who possess working knowledge of computer programming, web development, databases, and software & information systems which is complemented by business acumen gained through coursework offered by the School of Business. The Computer Information Systems curriculum is designed for the student who is interested in gaining a foundation in computing concepts and business application programming using current software development and information management practices.

Learning Outcomes:

Students demonstrate an ability to analyze a problem, and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution. 

Students demonstrate an ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs using current techniques, skills, and tools. 

Students demonstrate an understanding of and an ability to support the use, delivery, and management of information systems within an Information Systems environment.
