Research Interests
Dr. Manaris works in the intersection of computer music and art, human-computer interaction, and artificial intelligence. He explores interaction design and modeling of aesthetics and creativity using statistical, connectionist, and evolutionary techniques. This includes designing systems for computer-aided analysis, composition, and performance in music and art. He has been funded by the National Science Foundation (IIS and DUE), the Louisiana Board of Regents, Google, and IBM.
