Student Work Space

Computer Science majors have access to some of the best resources on campus at Harbor Walk East. We recognize that access to the necessary resources is critical to the success of our students. We provide one lounge to students: Study Lounge (Rm 335).

The Flex Room (Rm 105F) is available for students to reserve (see below) for work/study when not in use.

Students have 24/7 access to the CS Department student work space.  The third floor is open from 7am - 9pm Monday - Friday.  The first floor will always be locked and only accessible by card swipe.  For after hours access--after 9pm and before 7am Mon-Fri and on the weekends--CS students have card swipe access with their Cougar Card.  Students who are not majors in the Computer Science department but are currently enrolled in a Computer Science course (CSCI, CITA, or DATA) are welcome to use the work space when the building is open.

The work space provides students with state-of-the-art computers, on a Gigabit-switched network, in a Windows environment.  Additionally, they have full campus wireless access from their private laptops and can download the latest development tools and operating systems from Microsoft, thanks to the department's subscription to the Microsoft Developer Network Academic Alliance.

The Study Lounge is for the purpose of having access to a quiet space.

Harbor Walk East has three classrooms (Rm 300, 301, 334), a flex space (105F), and a conference (Rm 323) available for reservations.  When the rooms are not scheduled for use, they are available to reserve. Computer Science students can make reservation requests by utilizing the URL posted next to the door to Rm 323 and Rm 105F and emailing Bill Manaris, Interim Chair, for Rooms 300, 301, and 334) . Priority goes to computer science events and meetings.
