36th Annual High School Programming Competition

Teams must be registered by Friday, January 19, 2018

The Department of Computer Science at the College of Charleston will hold the 36th Annual High School Programming Competition on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Harbor Walk.

The department invites all interested high school teams to register. The competition will be utilizing Python and Java. Participating teams will solve each presented problem and introduce their solution to the supplied problem. A "Syntax-Master" will be provided to answer questions relative to program syntax. 

In order to encourage broad participation, individual schools cannot have more than one team place.

To register, please fill out the 36th Annual Registration Form.  The maximum number of registered participants, including advisor, is set to 80.  The Registration Form will close when capacity is met.

36th Annual High School Programming Competition Travel Grant

The department is offering a travel grant to help offset the cost of travel to Charleston, SC for the competition:

  • Up to $250 grant
  • Preference will be given to those who are first time attendees and those traveling outside of a 90 mile radius from Charleston, SC.
  • Application deadline: Friday, January 26, 2018
    • You will be notified by 5PM Wednesday, January 31st, via email if you have been awarded the travel grant
  • Funds will be reimbursed within 2-3 weeks following the competition
    • If you do not attend the competition, you will forfeit funds from the travel grant
